Evaluation on communication in water project in Latvia
Global Reporting assisted Jurmala Water in Latvia during 2004 and 2005 to improve their communication - both internal and external. We introduced planned, strategic communication as a tool and engaged in capacity development at a broad basis - prior to the project, the organisation had practically no experience in communication.
One year later, the main consultant ÅF has made a follow-up to review the results of our work. The evaluators noted that "the results of the work performed by the company may be considered as remarkable. This occurred with the help of a consequent planning model, and despite the obstacles raised by municipal politicians."
Furthermore, the follow-up report states that the work for communication follows the action plan agreed upon. The conclusions of the evaluation is that "methods adopted by Jurmala Water and the results obtained are apparently well fitted to the company's situation and our recommendation is to proceed in this way in a short-term perspective."
