Democracy and human rights are two cornerstones of our work. We work with the Ukrainian government to improve dialogue between the government, media and civil society, give communications support to Cambodian and Chechniyan human rights organisations, help empower small farmers in Vietnam, provide political support to war victims in Sudan and train journalists in Honduras, Nicaragua, Iraq and Tanzania.
Whether we work with major projects in government administration or give smaller contributions to local organisations, our view on communication is closely connected to democracy and human rights. Strategic communication is one of the most effective tools to achieve results. Our method is built on participation and local ownership. The stakeholders formulate their needs and we build models and structures to initiate change from within.
We also work closely with Swedish authorities and organisations that work with democracy and human rights: Ministry for Integration, The Office of the Prime Minister, the Integration Office, Forum Syd, Delegation of Roma issues, Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Swedish Peace and Arbitration Society and Civil Rights Defenders.
Commissioned by the Swedish Ambassador for Democracy Maria Leissner, we planned and implemented a communication strategy for democracy support in the international development cooperation. On behalf of the Delegation on Roma Issues we organised the work that resulted with creation of a new platform for Sweden’s policy against discrimination of Roma people.
We frequently arrange seminars about human rights issues, for example women’s rights in Congo/Kinshasa, commemorating the Crystal Night in Stockholm, and an international seminar about democracy and integration.
