Culture & Media

Global Reporting’s special competence lies in global development and international issues, including culture and inter-cultural communication.

Within the field of culture and media, our clients include Sida, the Swedish Government Office, Agency for Educational Development, Swedish National Agency for Higher Education, Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Commissioner for Human Rights at the Council of Europe, Plan International, Nordic Africa Institute, Olof Palme International Centre, the Global College and Fojo Media Institute.

A large part of Global Reporting’s work is about communication in development projects in which culture often has a prominent role. For example, we have in different contexts worked to raise Sida’s profile internationally. In addition, we worked with major cultural institutions in Vietnam to improve their communication. On behalf of the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs we have, among other things, arranged a major conference about press freedom. On behalf of the Fojo Media Institute we held a number of seminars to develop their brand. This work also resulted in production of their presentation folder.

We also trained journalists in Honduras, Ukraine, Tanzania and Iraq. We often arrange joint sessions in which journalists and government communication officers are given the possibility to discuss their work situation and media ethics.
