Development Communication
Communication is a vital tool to achieve goals, strengthen democracy and increase respect for human rights. The key to success in development projects and programmes is to use communication to include and engage the stakeholders.
Global Reporting has been working with Development Communication since 1996. For us, communication is a tool to achieve a number of different results, such as:
• Listening to the weakest groups of society and help increasing their capacity to be heard.
• Visualising each activity that takes place in the development process for a wider audience.
• Increasing general awareness about global issues.
• Facilitating communication between stakeholders and improving mutual understanding of both possibilities and limitations.
• Improving development cooperation by letting more people participate and enhancing the exchange of information between stakeholders.
Global Reporting has over the years been involved in a number of Development Communication projects and we have developed our own methods for strategic communication in development processes. Our clients call for our services when they want to communicate key issues such as HIV/AIDS, Millennium Development Goals, urban poverty, health, water, sanitation – to mention only a few of the topics and areas that we helped our clients communicate.
