The Global Forum on Civil Society Law

During the period August 21–23, 2011, more than 200 of the world's leading thinkers will gather in Stockholm, Sweden to discuss the most pressing legal issues faced by the civil society.

The Global Forum on Civil Society Law is the only global event that focuses exclusively on the legal environment for civil society. The conference will bring together representatives of civil society, governments, multilateral institutions, and the donor community. The Forum will provide space for participants to build skills, compare experience, and strengthen links with colleagues working on the framework for civil society around the world. The participants will explore a diverse range of prioritized issues; topics including information and communication technology (ICT) and its connection to the freedoms of assembly, association and expression; the legal framework for philanthropy; strategies to engage governments and legislatures on civil society law reform; counter-terrorism and civil society law; public-private partnerships with civil society; and aid effectiveness.

Global Reporting is contracted to organize the logistics of this event, which will take place at Hotel Clarion Sign, Norra Bantorget in Stockholm.
